We understand that when you have a new baby, find yourself severely sleep deprived, and things are just  not working out as expected, life can get pretty tough, pretty quickly and it can lead to a lot of anxiety. 

If you are having concerns about your baby, we would always recommend discussing those with your health visitor or GP in first instance. However, once they rule out any medical concerns and you still feel that something is not quite right, or would like peace of mind, or an extra opinion, Paediatric Osteopathy may be your answer.

 Osteopath Chloe Savage is our obstetric and paediatric specialist practitioner, having undergone a Diploma in Pediatric Osteopathy (DPO)  at the prestigious Osteopathic Centre for Children in London.

This course included a rotation within Barnet Hospital's Neonatoal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) where Chloe treated premature and severely ill babies under the supervision of some of the most experienced paediatric osteopaths in the UK.

Chloe is currently undergoing further training to include breast feeding support to her consultations and she has a young daughter, giving her first-hand experience of the ups and downs of parenting a young child! 

Young children are unable to communicate pain and discomfort the way we do, which can make it harder to tell if they are in pain.

We recommend following your instinc, as the person who knows the child best. Additional clues may include using one arm or leg more than the other, crying when held in certain positions, turning their head to one side more than the other, crying when wearing a hat, etc.

If we have any concern that something is not quite as it should be, we will be discuss this with you, and we will be happy to liase with your GP or other health professional and refer you to their care.
